Summit Players Theatre's highly-popular Shakespeare in the State Parks program returns in 2019 with one of the Bard's most well-known plays: Romeo and Juliet. We are pleased to welcome this fabulous production once again in Three Bridges Park along the Hank Aaron state Trail near 33rd Ct (south side of the river). Come and enjoy Shakespeare in this beautiful natural setting in the Menomonee River Valley!
Shakespeare's classic tale of love and loss comes to the great outdoors! Romeo and Juliet come from rival families, but quickly find that their love runs deeper than the divisions between them. With the help of loyal friends, these star-crossed lovers seek to overcome the hate that keeps them apart, but escaping from the vicious cycle may end up being impossible.
To fully enjoy the show, we recommend, bringing a blanket and/or a chair, and a picnic dinner.
5:30 pm: Workshop - Before each show, the Summit Players offer a free, 45-minute educational workshop entitled Playing with Shakespeare: Get Outside with Will. Our workshops are focused on Shakespeare's use of nature in his plays and general theatre practices.
7:00 pm: Show
All shows are presented free of charge. Seating is general admission on a first come, first served basis. Actors will accept donations at the end of the show.
